Owls on a Rainy Day

We had a very rainy day last week, so while Micah was helping daddy up at camp, Abi, Eva and I decided to make a fun craft that I found on another blog.

I used an old felted sweater that didn't quite fit right

And cut out the right shape

Abi got to help with the sewing, which she LOVED!

Then Micah got home and said he wanted to make one too. So we got started on owl #3

He also enjoyed sewing his together(good for developing those fine motor skills)

This "little" craft took most of the afternoon because mama had to do a lot of the putting together, and sewing. And this little munchkin on my lap wanted to be held.

And our cute owl friends!
Left to Right, they are
Oliver(Micah's), Caden(Eva's) and Katie(Abi's)
All named by their new owners!

Eva's Sweater

This little sweater was intended for this spring and that is when I started knitting it.

I am still a very SLOW knitter, and I also messed up on a row, and set it aside for awhile.

A very good friend of mine helped me fix my mistake and I finally finished it up a few weeks ago.

It then took me quite a while to work up the nerve to block it, since I had never blocked a sweater before.

I think it turned out really great for my first big project.

Isn't she adorable??
I have lots of other knits I want to work on for Christmas. I think maybe if I give myself a deadline I can complete them faster. Hopefully.

Leaves Leaves Leaves!

We have been doing a bit of a nature study on leaves the last couple of weeks. Being out among them and learning why they change color, how the detach from the tree, and the different colors each tree turns and why.

Collecting Leaves

Even Raking Leaves

Sitting on a blanket under a tree

And even eating a little grass

We made leaf rubbings of our findings

Lots of Fall Fun!

Fall Hike

Eva's first Hike

She doesn't like to walk very many places with complaints of her legs hurting. She has wanted to go on a hike, so we have been building this up, but she doesn't seem too thrilled does she?

Gabriella is 6 months old

And she is crawling and moving all over the house!! Her first official "crawling" day was October 3rd the day before our anniversary. She is going to be 7 months old the 30th of this month, but these were taken the day after she turned 6 months. She is getting to be so much fun!
