Yarning

I am working on the Wee Ambrosi, for Gabriella who is 3. I am making her the biggest size, and hoping it fits...the measurements seem right? Maybe the pattern is written big? I'm hoping as this is a darling pattern. I am also making something ELSE for the baby! An owlie sleep sack. I have made him lots of stuff, I need to post all of it:) I'm reading "The Last Runaway", which I am enjoying so far. I am also planning Micah's 9th birthday party so not much knitting has happened lately. We are doing an Army birthday complete with boot camp, it should be lots of fun!

Yarn Along and Rambling

I have been knitting for baby:) I guess I did not mention on here that I found out several weeks ago that we were 4 weeks further along than we thought. So right now I am at 17.5 weeks! Which means almost halfway! Which seems completely crazy to me. I am so glad I got started on baby knits early. I still want to make lots more though. I want to make atleast 2 more diaper covers, a pair of longies, a long sleeve cardigan, and hats! I haven't made any hats for this baby yet. We find out for sure what the gender is in 1.5 weeks. We are 80% sure of gender, but not announcing anything till we know for sure :)

There is also a little sneek peek at my belly :)
Still reading "The Keeper of the Bees" and enjoying it, but for some reason having a hard time getting through it very quickly. That's ok, I have had lots of other things on my mind. I am going to start my very first quilt! I want to make each of the kids a quilt for their beds made my me, and I am starting with Micah. I am also trying to read and gather school books for this next school year which is coming up soon!
Oh, and we are moving to a larger house on the camp property in November, so I am thinking paint colors, decorating, arrangements for that also! Lots on my mind! But it's all good stuff!
(Plus a new baby, and Christmas all at the same time! So trying to think Christmasy too! )

Baby Knitting

I am knitting diaper covers...on my 2nd in size small. The gray underneath is the newborn size. They are super cute! I hope to have several more done soon:) I am reading The Keeper of the Bees, after I saw Ginny mention it. It's been a good read so far at about halfway too.

Yarn Along

I just began reading "My Antonia." I haven't read enough to see how well I will like it, but I will get there I'm sure.

I am knitting away at Eva's shrug. I made one for Gabriella, and the girls have all requested one. Well, Elise has not, but the girls want me to make her one to match them. So, I am almost done with 2 out of 4. These may become gift knits for certain nieces at Christmas too.

I also have plans for a puerperium cardigan. This is for the new baby who is 7 1/2 weeks in the womb. We are excited for this baby #6, even if we get crazy looks from people. I want to knit up a bunch of diaper covers, and who knows what else. Definetly hats, lots of hats. This will be a January baby, so I get to use all this wonderful wool. How fun!

Yarn Along

I am in the baby bootie knitting marathon! I have several friends pregnant, and I wanted to knit them something. I love knitting the booties. I feel like they are so cute and tiny, and are also very useful.

I am also still working on my Rosamund(which regretfully hasn't seen any action from me for awhile). I forgot the second button hole and feel kind of stuck. Not sure if it will work to place it now....but I don't want to frog it. It took awhile to do all those cables. I need to just start back up. I'd love to do some sock knitting which is my favored warm weather knitting.

I am reading One Thousand Gifts, and truly loving it. I want this book to really sink in so I am taking my time reading. I have also been reading The Midwife, which is what "Call the Midwife" is based on. Such sad, and hard lives they had. But they had joy through a lot of it, which is just amazing.

Yarn Along

My knitting has slowed down a bit lately. After all the sock yarn dress knitting, I needed a bit of a break I guess. I got a book at the library that I just started last night called Almost Amish. I think I was expecting something different, but I'm only a couple chapters in, so we will see. I need some good literature! I think I need to check out what everyone else is reading and see what looks good :)

I am making my mom the honey cowl for her birthday(which was a month ago). I am eager to finish it and give it to her. I let her pick the pattern. I'm not so sure about it though. I love the pattern, but I'm thinking I should have made it a bit longer...?

I spent a bit of time yesterday printing up some patterns that I want to start. I am going to make Elise this hat, with these mods. Hopefully it will work out. I'm not doing a gauge swatch. I hate them. And for a hat, I figure it will be ok. We'll see though.

Featured!

I was so super excited that Elise's dress, that felt like it took forever to make, was asked to be a featured finished project on the ravelry pattern page!

Here she is:

She's such a sweetie! I love looking at that little face.

Ice

Last week we had flooding right back there. Now it's ice. We were hoping for snow, but not yet. It's pretty though. I'm glad to have a nice warm fire to sit by and knit :)
